NPC Drops
Every fighting NPC has a very small chance to drop rare items on top of its normal kill reward: TPM Packs, gamepass effects, shop cosmetics and Upgrade Shards. Since Update 5.5 the rare drops are no longer applied instantly - they go to the NPC DROPS tab of your Inventory, where you can USE them on yourself or GIFT them to another player in your server.
How drops are rolled
Every rare item is rolled on its own, separately from the normal kill reward (Tokens / TPM / Roll Tokens). A rare drop never replaces the normal reward, and two different items can drop from the same kill.
The odds below are the base odds on a Dread Warden. Every other NPC multiplies them by its own drop multiplier. The multiplier is based on how many of that NPC exist and how fast they respawn, so farming any NPC type nonstop gives the same amount of rare drops per day - weaker NPCs are not worse for rare drops.
A kill only rolls drops if it paid a reward. After you kill an NPC you are locked to that NPC name for 5 minutes (every paid kill renews it): kills of a different NPC during that time pay nothing and drop nothing.
| NPC | Drop multiplier | Upgrade Shard chance per kill |
|---|---|---|
| Red Knight | ×7 | 0.2488% (about 1 in 402) |
| Dread Warden | ×1 | 0.0355% (about 1 in 2,813) |
| oof god | ×0.44 | 0.0140% (about 1 in 7,144) |
| Phantom | ×0.78 | 0.0224% (about 1 in 4,465) |
| Hooded Sentinel | ×0.7 | 0.0163% (about 1 in 6,125) |
| WereWolf | ×0.47 | 0.0098% (about 1 in 10,208) |
| Noob | ×1.17 | 0.0179% (about 1 in 5,601) |
TPM Packs
The six TPM Packs from the shop can drop from any NPC. The bigger the pack, the rarer it is. When used, the pack gives the same base TPM as the shop pack: VIP doubles it and your rank bonus multiplies it. A gifted pack uses the RECEIVER's VIP and rank bonus.
TPM from packs ignores the NPC TPM cap.
| Item | Base TPM (before VIP / rank bonus) | Base chance per kill |
|---|---|---|
| TPM Pack I | 246.33B | 1 in 118,320 |
| TPM Pack II | 985.32B | 1 in 478,422 |
| TPM Pack III | 1.91T | 1 in 941,412 |
| TPM Pack IV | 3.81T | 1 in 1,886,253 |
| TPM Pack V | 6.9T | 1 in 3,429,551 |
| TPM Pack VI | 12.07T | 1 in 6,000,000 |
Gamepass drops
A gamepass drop gives the gamepass EFFECT permanently on the account that uses it (you do not own the pass on the Roblox site, but it works the same in game). If you already own the gamepass you cannot use the item - gift it instead.
| Item | Base chance per kill |
|---|---|
| Half Skills Cooldown | 1 in 24,000,000 |
| Auto R | 1 in 24,000,000 |
| x2 Perk Speed | 1 in 24,000,000 |
| x2 Race Roll Speed | 1 in 24,000,000 |
| Advanced Auto Path | 1 in 36,000,000 |
Cosmetic drops
Eight cosmetic families from the shop can drop, each with a base chance of 1 in 72,000,000 per kill. Using the item unlocks a random color of that family that the account does not own yet. If every color is already owned the item cannot be used on that account.
| Family | Type |
|---|---|
| WRAITH | Aura |
| ASCENSION | Aura |
| MIDAS | Aura |
| SOUL HARVEST | Aura |
| DRAGONS WRATH | Aura |
| INFERNO | Energy orb skin |
| SINGULARITY | Energy orb skin |
| TEMPEST | Energy orb skin |
Upgrade Shards
Upgrade Shards are used in the Skill Tree to push a node past its max level. They are added to your account directly (they do not go to the NPC Drops inventory and cannot be gifted). The chance per kill is in the first table. The Necromancer also gives Upgrade Shards to every rewarded player.
The NPC Drops inventory
- Open Inventory > NPC DROPS to see your stored drops. Each item shows which NPC dropped it.
- The inventory holds up to 200 items. If it is full, a new drop is applied to your account instantly instead (the old behaviour) - a rare drop is never lost.
- USE applies the item to your own account.
- GIFT sends the item to another player who is in your server right now. Gifting is permanent.
- Drops announce in chat. Gamepass and cosmetic drops are announced in every server, TPM Packs only in your server.
Weekly TPM Pack limit
An account can have at most 10 TPM Packs applied per week. Packs you use yourself AND packs you receive as a gift both count toward the receiving account's 10. When the limit is reached the pack stays in the inventory until the week resets. The inventory shows how many you have used and when the week resets.
Gift rules
- The receiver must be in the same server. You cannot gift to yourself.
- Both players must have been in the server for at least 10 seconds and have their data loaded.
- You can do one Use / Gift action every 1.5 seconds.
- Players who turned gifts off cannot receive NPC drops.
- A gamepass cannot be gifted to someone who already owns it, a cosmetic cannot be gifted to someone who owns every color, and a TPM Pack cannot be gifted to someone who already reached the weekly limit.
- If something changes while the gift is processing (a player leaves, the server is restarting), nothing is used and the item stays with you.
- Gifts are verified server-side and each item has a unique id.
NPC TPM cap
This affects the normal kill reward, not the rare drops. Once your self-produced base TPM reaches 10Qa, TPM rewards from NPC kills are cut 4× but Token rewards from NPC kills become 50× bigger. TPM bought with Robux does not count toward the cap. The kill message shows how close you are to the cap.
